JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Boys high school basketball teams got their playoff assignments on Sunday afternoon and 20 area teams are bound for the postseason.
Ponte Vedra, Ribault, Providence and NFEI all earned No. 1 seeds in their regions. Opening round games are Thursday.

Two all-local matchups headline the first-round pairings, including Bolles visiting rival Bishop Kenny in the Region 1-4A opener. The Crusaders have beaten the Bulldogs twice this season, including a 51-48 OT classic late last month. Jackson will have its work cut out for it in 1-4A as it aims for a fifth consecutive state semifinals appearance. A win at Panama City Bay in the opener likely sets it up for a showdown with top-seeded Ribault in the regional semifinals. NFEI and Impact Christian figure to slug it out in Region 1-2A. Those programs have made it a habit of reaching the state final four in Lakeland.
