Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will start Sunday’s game against the Browns, rebounding from a high ankle sprain less than a week earlier.
Left tackle Walker Little stepped on Lawrence’s ankle and it bent inward late in the fourth quarter of an overtime loss to the Bengals on Monday night. Lawrence was helped off the field and backup C.J. Beathard finished the game. Coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence would be a game-time decision but the Jaguars announced Lawrence would start this morning.

Jacksonville took heavy losses in the Cincinnati game, including a core muscle injury to Christian Kirk that landed him on injured reserve Friday.
Little is out of the game with a hamstring injury. Cornerback Tyson Campbell, who had one of the most difficult games of his career against JaMarr Chase, has been battling a quad injury and didn’t make the trip. Cornerback Tre Herndon remains in concussion protocol. Rookie tight end Brenton Strange is out with a foot injury.
While the injuries stacked up Monday night, it was the sight of Lawrence on the field writhing in pain that was the most significant. He looked much better when he spoke to the media Wednesday and wasn’t in a brace or a walking boot. He practiced Thursday and Friday, a sign that he’s farther along than he initially looked.
