JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Wednesday marks the first of three days this month where high school football players can sign national letters of intent with colleges. The window closes on Friday for the early period.

And the area is poised to have a significant number of players sign this week instead of waiting until national signing day on Feb. 7, 2024. While the traditional first Wednesday in February remains known as national signing day, the introduction of the early signing period in 2017 has diluted the February date.
