JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars tight end Evan Engram made history on Sunday against the Panthers.
Engram became just the eighth tight end in the Super Bowl era to have 100 receptions in a season when he grabbed a C.J. Beathard pass on third-and-1 and turned it into a 10-yard gain.

Engram set a franchise record for receptions (73) and yardage (766) in his first season with the Jaguars in 2022. Where does this year’s performance rank? Only iconic receiver Jimmy Smith had more than 100 receptions in a season for Jacksonville, posting years of 112 (2001) and 116 (1999). Smith’s running mate, Keenan McCardell, got close to 100 (94 in 2000) but never over it.
Among tight ends, Engram’s name is now locked in with some of the best. Travis Kelce has done it three times (2018, 2020, 2022), with 110 catches last year his personal best.
Jason Witten (110 in 2012), Mark Andrews (107 in 2021), Darren Waller (107 in 2020), Tony Gonzalez (102 in 2004) and Dallas Clark (100 in 2009) also have 100-reception seasons. Zach Ertz holds the record with 116 catches in 2018.
