JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Super 6 girls high school basketball rankings will be published each Tuesday — except during Christmas week — through the regular season. Records are through Jan. 1.

Rank, School, Record, Classification

1. (2) Bishop Kenny (12-2, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Carolina Forest (SC), Dacula (Georgia), Episcopal, Green Hill (Tennessee), Ribault, Ridgeview, Westminster Academy.

Glance: The Crusaders went 5-1 since our last Super 6, a quality showing across tournament play. Kenny’s top wins in that stretch came against 9-4 Carolina Forest (62-27) and 10-3 Dacula (57-29). Their lone loss came to a 12-0 Sumter (SC), a Class 5A state semifinalist last season. The difficult action continues Friday and Saturday with games against Sports Leadership & Management and Somerset Prep, teams who are a combined 22-3. F Clare Coyle (12.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg), Riley Talbert (10.9 ppg) and G Kathleen Crawley (9.5 ppg) continue to do the heavy lifting for Kenny. The Crusaders’ other loss is to 13-0 DME Academy.

2. (1) Providence (14-2, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Beachside, Bolles, Calvary Christian, Creekside, Graves County (Kentucky), Hawthorne, Madison County, Master’s Academy, Orange Park, Ridgeview, Trinity Catholic.

Glance: The Stallions went 5-2 since our last Super 6, beating Hawthorne, Master’s Academy, Calvary Christian, Cornerstone Charter and Graves County. They lost to Cincinnati Country Day (64-54) and Wayne County (56-35) in tournament action. Wayne County went 36-1 and lost in the Division I Class 1A Tennessee state championship game last year, so not a bad loss (despite the wide margin) for the Stallions. Janie Boyd (13.5 ppg) and Janai Jordan (12.5 ppg) lead the Stallions. Julianna Baskin is averaging a double-double (12.3 ppg, 10 rpg). Providence is back in action this week against Chiles (Friday) and Episcopal (Saturday).

3. (3) Bolles (12-4, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Dougherty (Ga.), Holy Innocents Episcopal (Ga.), Mandarin, Orange Park, Paxon, Ponte Vedra, Raines, St. Mary’s (New York), Whitney Young (Illinois).

Glance: A 4-3 mark since our last Super 6 for the Bulldogs. Bolles lost to a very good Seffner Christian (55-40), a team that went 25-5 last year, as well as 7-1 Manasquan (New Jersey) They had quality Ws against Whitney Young (66-56), St. Mary’s (62-48) and Mandarin (86-65). They face Mandarin again on Jan. 9 before a clash with No. 1 Kenny on Jan. 11. Abby Knauff (16.2 ppg), Evie Freeman (11.2 ppg), Presley Norman (10.5 ppg), Terrell McCoy (10.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg), and Ella Stakem (9.3 ppg) lead a deep Bolles squad.

4. (6) Ribault (9-2, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Deltona, Lee (Ala.), Mandarin, Raines, Rickards, Ridgeview.

Glance: Quality 3-0 holiday stretch for the Trojans, who drilled Oakleaf (60-33), clipped Rickards (43-41) and handled previous No. 5 Ridgeview (55-42). They’re back in action Friday and Saturday against Godby and Rickards. Destiny Donaldson (12 ppg, 5.8 rpg) and Kayla Massey (10.6 ppg) lead Ribault.

5. (4) San Jose Prep (8-4, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Cumberland County (Tennessee), Florida High, Ribault.

Glance: A 2-2 mark since our last Super 6 for the Storm. They beat Oakleaf (64-37) and a 9-4 Cumberland County (55-54), and lost to an 11-1 Laconia (Wisconsin) and a 12-2 Evangelical Christian (55-52), a team that was a Class 2A state semifinalist last year. Up next is the She Got Game Classic in Atlanta where the Storm face Greenforest (Georgia) on Friday and Legacy School of Sports Sciences (Texas) on Saturday.

6. (5) Ridgeview (8-4, Class 5A)

Notable wins: Mandarin (twice), St. Augustine, Trinity Catholic, University Christian.

Glance: A 3-1 mark since our last Super 6, with Ws over Mandarin (52-40), Creekside (51-38) and Trinity Catholic (55-33). They lost to Ribault (55-42). Nacoya Blocton (15 ppg), Nia Blocton (13 ppg, 10.2 rpg) and Narissa Blocton (11.7 ppg) are leading the way for Ridgeview. The Panthers stay in the Super 6 this week ahead of a surging Beachside.
