1. (5) Jackson (11-3, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Creekside, Gainesville, Godby, Raines, Ribault, Riverside, Sandalwood, Santa Fe Catholic, San Jose Prep.

Glance: The Tigers are cooking. Coach James Collins’ team has won six straight, including Ws over previous No. 1 Raines and previous No. 6 Ribault since our last Super 6 on Dec. 20. They atoned for two of their three losses (Creekside, Ribault). Their other loss came in OT to Georgia school, Dougherty.

2. (2) Providence (10-5, Class 3A)

Notable win: Episcopal, Mater Lakes Academy, Lake Highland Prep, Oakleaf, Paxon, Shabach Christian Academy (Maryland), Villages Charter, Windermere.

Glance: The Stallions went 5-1 since our last Super 6, racking up quality Ws over Shabach Christian (68-65 in OT), Lake Highland Prep (56-39) and Windermere (59-40). The loss came to a 12-2 Blake (50-44). Chris Arias (14 ppg), Caleb McAbee (11.1 ppg) and Brady Patterson (10.9 ppg) and David Fonville (10.1 ppg) lead the Stallions. They’ve got a 10-3 Rockledge up next on Saturday.

3. (3) Episcopal (12-2, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Father Lopez, Fletcher, Gateway, Impact Christian, Lowndes (Ga.), NFEI, South Point (NC), Munroe.

Glance: A 4-1 mark since our last Super 6, with their best win a 78-52 romp over 8-3 Father Lopez. The loss was a 48-37 game to Marvin Ridge (NC), a 10-3 program. The Eagles have a tough Bolles team up next on Friday night.

4. (1) Raines (11-4, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Auburn (Virginia), First Coast (twice), Godby, Mandarin, Providence, Ribault.

Glance: The Vikings went 3-2 since our last Super 6, notching solid Ws against Auburn (70-51) and First Coast (60-48). They lost huge, a 76-37 demolition, to a 9-1 Louisville (Ohio) team. Raines does have a win over Providence, but I moved it down due to that 39-point and then a 22-point loss to Jackson.

5. (4) Paxon (11-2, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Keenan (SC), Nease, Ponte Vedra, Ribault, Stanton, Toombs County (Georgia).

Glance: The Golden Eagles have won three in a row since a 54-49 loss to Jackson. They stacked two quality Ws over the Christmas break, beating Toombs County (54-50) and Stanton (57-27).

6. (6) Ribault (10-4, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Columbia, First Coast, Jackson, Riverside, San Jose Prep.

Glance: The Trojans went 4-1 since our last Super 6, with quality wins over Bolles (55-53), Columbia (57-42) and First Coast (54-46). The loss came to Jackson, a team it has split with this season. G Caleb Williams (23.4 ppg) remains in the conversation, and probably atop the list, as the area’s best player.
