JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Super 6 girls soccer rankings will be published every Thursday during the regular season — except during Christmas week. Records are through Jan. 3 games.

Rank, school, record, classification

1. (1) Ponte Vedra (13-1-1, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Beachside, Bishop Kenny, Bishop Moore, Fletcher, Gulf Breeze, Lincoln, Mariner, Somerset Academy, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Sharks were active over the holiday break, racking up a 4-0 mark. The high quality Ws in that span came over Mariner (2-1), Lincoln (2-0) and Somerset Academy (1-0), all top 49 teams in the state, according to MaxPreps. Mariner is No. 8 in the state and No. 22 in the country. Ponte Vedra has Seabreeze (Thursday) and Creekside (Friday) up next week.

2. (2) Bartram Trail (10-3-1, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Daytona Beach Seabreeze, Edgewood, Lakeland Christian, Navarre, P.K. Yonge, St. Johns Country Day, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Bears played just once since our last Super 6, a 1-0 win over a very good Beachside. They’re back in action Tuesday against Fleming Island. Brooke Gosse (9 goals), Carolyn Johnson (10 assists, 6 goals), Macey Millard (5 goals, 4 assists) and Leilany Fresse (5 goals, assist) are leading Bartram.

3. (3) St. Johns Country Day (7-2-4, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Bishop Moore, Doral Academy, Episcopal, P.K. Yonge, Plantation American Heritage, South Walton,

Glance: The Spartans haven’t played since a 3-1 win over Bishop Moore on Dec. 20. They return to play on Tuesday against Bolles before tough Tallahassee games against Chiles (Friday) and Lincoln (Saturday). Sydney Schmidt (9 goals, 4 assists) leads St. Johns.

4. (4) Creekside (8-0-2, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Oakleaf, Providence, Stanton, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Knights have been off since a 1-all draw against No. 6 Atlantic Coast on Dec. 19. Chloe Iliff (9 goals), Alanna Maki (6 goals), Jaclyn Bessman (5 goals) and Samantha Colvin (5 goals) lead Creekside. The other tie is to No. 2 Bartram Trail. They return to action Jan. 12 at No. 1 Ponte Vedra.

5. (5) Nease (9-0-3, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Mandarin, Middleburg, Oakleaf, Sandalwood.

Glance: Nease has played just once since our last Super 6, a 2-all draw against Fletcher. They get back to full-time action next week with games against Fernandina Beach (Tuesday) and Menendez (Thursday).

6. (6) Atlantic Coast (8-1-2, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Fleming Island, Fletcher, Gainesville, Satellite, Stanton.

Glance: The Stingrays haven’t played since a 1-all draw against Creekside on Jan. 19. They return to the field Jan. 16 against Gainesville P.K. Yonge.
