Good news, bad news: Trevor Lawrence cleared, Christian Kirk inactive for Titans game

Trevor Lawrence is active and Christian Kirk is not for Jacksonville’s Week 18 finale against the Titans.

Kirk was activated from the designate to return injury list on Saturday, which made him eligible to play against Tennessee. But coach Doug Pederson said during the week that Kirk and Lawrence would be game-time decisions. Lawrence warmed up on the field Sunday morning and appeared ready to go from a shoulder injury. Pederson said that if Lawrence was active, then he would play against Tennessee. He missed the first game of his NFL career in Week 17 against Carolina. The team placed Matt Barkley, who backed up C.J. Beathard last week, as inactive for the Titans game.

The Jaguars face a simple scenario Sunday. A win locks up the AFC South title. A loss would give the division title to the Texans, who beat Indianapolis on Saturday night. The Steelers would also make the playoffs with a Jacksonville loss.

Kirk underwent surgery for a core muscle injury after a loss to the Bengals. The team is 1-3 without him in the lineup.
