JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars filled out their coaching staff on Thursday, adding eight and promoting another from within to bolster their staff and new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen.
Included in those nine new hires is Mike Gray, a Jacksonville native who played baseball and football at Creekside High School. Gray, who will serve as a defensive analyst and assistant secondary coach, was with the Falcons under Nielsen last year.

The most notable hire is Kris Richard, who played with Seattle and San Francisco from 2002-05. Richard followed his playing career with 17 seasons coaching in the NFL. He spent 2022 with the Saints serving as co-defensive coordinator alongside Nielsen.
Matt House was hired as the team’s inside linebackers coach, perhaps a nod to the team retaining Josh Allen. House coached Allen at the University of Kentucky prior to the Jaguars drafting Allen in the first round. He’s currently a free agent who the team wants to bring back.
Jacksonville promoted Greg Austin to assistant offensive line coach after he served as a quality control coach last year.
