Rank, school, record, classification

1. Bolles (6-0, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Bishop Moore, Fletcher, Menendez, Montverde, South Walton.

Glance: The Bulldogs are fresh from the best season that they’ve ever played, a 22-3 march that ended with an epic battle against Saint Andrew’s (9-8) in the state championship game. They’ve picked right back up where they left off under coach Tom West.

2. Ponte Vedra (5-2, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Allatoona (Ga.), Bartram Trail, Creekside, Nease.

Glance: The Sharks went 16-6 and lost in the regional final to eventual state champ Lake Mary in a classic (6-5). That’s the same score Ponte Vedra lost to the Rams this season. Ponte Vedra also lost to unbeaten Starr’s Mill (Ga.), 8-6.

3. Nease (2-2, Class 2A)

Notable win: Oak Hall.

Glance: The Panthers went 15-5 a season ago and were competitive with a tough Ponte Vedra team. They’ve got a 9-8 loss to a solid Pope (Ga.) and a 9-1 loss to the Sharks. They’ve got a big game at Bolles on Tuesday night ahead.

4. Fletcher (4-1, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Episcopal, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: Excellent start for the Senators, who have a pair of one-goal wins over Bartram and Episcopal. Menendez is up next for Fletcher on Tuesday night. Nathan Phillips leads Fletcher in goal scoring (12), while Luke Fierro (12 assists, 9 goals).

5. St. Augustine (4-1, Class 2A)

Notable win: Matanzas

Glance: The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 15-5 season. They’re only loss this year is a big one (16-1) to Oak Hall. That game aside, expect St. Augustine to navigate most local challenges.

6. Bartram Trail (2-2, Class 2A)

Notable win: Pope (Ga.).

Glance: I’ve got the Bears edging out Episcopal for the No. 6 spot this week, although I could have easily gone the other route. Those two teams meet on Tuesday night.

Others

Creekside (2-2, Class 2A); Episcopal (4-1, Class 1A); Menendez (1-1, Class 1A); Providence (3-2, Class 1A).
