PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The 50th Players Championship kicked off Tuesday in full red, white and blue fashion with its annual Military Appreciation Day.
That’s the first major event in the golden anniversary of one of the most prominent tournaments in golf.

With Jacksonville being one of the top military populations in Florida, it’s no surprise that there was a great turnout of veterans and current military members in attendance. Special activations ran throughout the day all culminating in a live concert by multi-platinum singer Cole Swindell.

Swindell sang a variety of covers and original music like “You Should Be Here” a song inspired by his late father Keith, a sergeant in the US Air Force.
Throughout The Players, servicemembers are invited to visit the Patriots’ Outpost, a private venue reserved for them and their families with free refreshments available all week.
