JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It’s time for the playoffs!

The Icemen are about to embark on a potential two-month quest to win the Kelly Cup, the coveted ECHL trophy. It all starts Thursday. Here’s a quick glance on what you should know before the series.

The series

The Icemen are hosting their rival, the Florida Everblades in the first round of the ECHL playoffs. Jacksonville owns a 9-1-1 record against Florida during the regular season. The Icemen also finished second in the South Division, while the Everblades finished third.

The format

The first round is a best-of-seven series. Whoever can win four games first will advance to the second round. *** indicates if necessary

Where

The Icemen will host the first two games, and if necessary, the last two games of the first round at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Games three, four, and five will be away at Hertz Arena.

When

Thursday night’s series-opening game will begin at 7 p.m. The full first round schedule is as follows:

GAME 1: Thursday, April 18, 7 p.m., Florida at Jacksonville (VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena)

GAME 2: Sunday, April 21, 3 p.m., Florida at Jacksonville (VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena)

GAME 3: Wednesday, April 24, 7:30 p.m., Jacksonville at Florida (Hertz Arena)

GAME 4: Friday, April 26, 7:30 p.m., Jacksonville at Florida (Hertz Arena)

GAME 5: Saturday, April 27, 7 p.m., Jacksonville at Florida (Hertz Arena)

GAME 6: Tuesday, April 30, 7 p.m. ***Florida at Jacksonville (VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena)

GAME 7: Wednesday, May 1, 7 p.m. ***Florida at Jacksonville (VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena)
