Shannon Miller speaks from Paris after Simone Biles eclipses her American gymnastics Olympic medal record

When it comes to gymnastics Shannon Miller is and always will be an American hero.

Miller, who is a Jacksonville resident, has quite a few Olympic medals: two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Until Tuesday, Miller held the title of the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history. That’s when Simone Biles led the USA gymnastics team to victory, securing gold and claiming the top spot as the most decorated US gymnast.

Miller is in Paris covering the Games and joined The Morning Show to talk about Biles’ performance and how records are made to be broken.

She also discussed her performance as part of the Magnificent Seven at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, and the fact that this year’s gymnastics uniform design for the team event pays tribute to that iconic 1996 U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Olympic Team.
