JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – “I love this defense.”
That seems to be a pretty consistent feeling among Jaguars players. They love the new defense and it shows.

Though the early part of training camp the Jaguars defense has gotten off to a good start. Monday weather pushed the team inside and that didn’t both the defense one bit. They forced a handful of turnovers. Andre Cisco hit the training camp trifecta. He intercepted a pass from all three of the Jaguars QBs in one day.
Christian Braswell said, “If I had to put a name on it is confidence it puts you in a spot where you can trust all the guys around you.”
That trust is showing at all levels of the defense. Braswell is one of the guys who has really shown out so far through camp. Last season, injuries sidelined Braswell for most of the year but now he is healthy and wants to show what he can do.
“When I get the opportunity to spin I’m [going to] spin,” he said.
When the Jaguars drafted Braswell last season and his name went across the bottom of the screen, NFL Network was showing a dog on the screen. Braswell said it was because the Jags got a dog and now after last season’s motivation he said, “they probably getting a bigger dog.”
Braswell is locked in. Jags cornerback coach Cory Robinson told me during the offseason that Braswell would just hit him up on random weekend days while watching film with questions.
“Football comes easy, the rest is really just mental” said Braswell.
He will get his chance to show just how easy football is on Saturday when the Jags play their first preseason game of the year.
“I’m trying to make something happen,” he said.
