1. (1) Middleburg (8-2, Class 5A)

Notable win: Bob Jones (Ala.), Jackson Academy (Miss.), Providence, Timber Creek.

Glance: The Broncos dropped their first games since last year during the Nike Tournament of Champions, falling to DeLand and Tallahassee Leon. They bounced back with wins over a 17-3 Bob Jones, Jackson Academy, Ocala Forest and Timber Creek at the tournament, then swept Clay. Big three-game stretch to close out the week against Ponte Vedra (Thursday), Lincoln (Friday) and Chiles (Saturday), all on the road. Brooke Forkum (111 kills) and Camden Rahn (91 kills) are surging.

2. (2) Bishop Kenny (7-2, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Creekside, Gainesville, Wesley Chapel, Windermere.

Glance: The Crusaders went 5-2 at the Tournament of Champions and then returned home with a sweep of Nease. They’ve got Fleming Island on Thursday before a tough stretch next week that includes games against a good Trinity Christian and rival Bolles. Early losses against difficult teams have become a hallmark of Kenny’s program. The Crusaders take some shots early and then play on deep into the postseason. Expect that once again. Olivia Ryno and Sofia Muino are leading Kenny at the net.

3. (4) Ponte Vedra (3-0, Class 5A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Harvest, Providence.

Glance: One game since our last Super 6 and it was a 3-1 win over previous No. 3 Beachside. The Sharks are consistent every year and that was a big W for early in the season. They’ve got No. 1 Middleburg at home on Thursday in another big test. Leah Grall (32 kills), Railey Player (22 kills), Ryan Murphy and Lily Keely (21 kills) are all taking turns leading the attack.

4. (3) Beachside (4-1, Class 5A)

Notable wins: Providence, Trinity Christian.

Glance: The Barracudas dropped a 3-1 game to Ponte Vedra and then bounced back with a 3-0 of Providence. They travel to unbeaten New Smyrna Beach on Thursday night before a clash at Bolles on Tuesday. Adriana Jeanpierre has 71 kills for Beachside. Mollie VanDeusen and Erica Duffy have combined for 67 kills.

5. (5) Mandarin (5-0, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Bolles, Creekside, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Mustangs beat Tocoi Creek in a sweep in their lone match since our last Super 6. They visit rival Atlantic Coast on Monday followed by another rival, Fletcher, on Tuesday. Paige Wind (45 kills), Macy Dubois (35 kills) and Kyla Hollis (29 kills) are leading the way for the Mustangs.

T6. (6) Bolles (4-1, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Trinity Christian, Yulee.

Glance: The Bulldogs have won four straight, including a 3-2 over Yulee and a 3-1 over Clay since our last Super 6. Creekside (Thursday), Beachside (Tuesday) and Bishop Kenny (Sept. 12) are up next. Sophia Albaugh (80 kills), Sally Cleland (39 kills, 20 blocks), Izzy Fischer (39 kills) and Mallie Brackin (38 kills) have paced the Bulldogs.

T6. (NR) Fletcher (5-0, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Fleming Island.

Glance: Good start for the Senators, who move into the Super 6 this week. They’ve got Fernandina Beach and Clay up before their collision with No. 5 Mandarin on Tuesday. Katie Issendorf (86 kills) and Jemma Lerian (43 kills).
