2. (2) Nease (7-0, Class 6A)

Last week: beat Tocoi Creek, 48-15. This week: at Beachside (7-2).

3. (3) St. Augustine (7-1, Class 6A)

Last week beat Ridgeview, 63-7. This week: at (6) Mandarin (7-2), Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

4. (4) Bolles (8-1, Class 2A)

Last week: beat Wolfson, 35-0. This week: Off, regular season complete.

Glance: The Bulldogs will enter the state playoffs on an eight-game winning streak. They haven’t been tested since a 57-50 win over Oakleaf in mid-September.

5. (6) Bradford (8-1, Class 2A)

Last week: beat Santa Fe, 44-0. This week: at NFEI (1-7).

Glance: The Tornadoes have been on the warpath since their loss Newberry. They’ll likely go into the state playoffs with another shutout under their belts.

6. (7) Mandarin (7-2, Class 6A)

Last week: beat Oakleaf, 18-7. This week: vs. (3) St. Augustine (7-1), Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Mustangs have changed their identity this season. Injuries forced them to adjust and they’ve responded with becoming a defensive-centric team. They’ve got a massive assignment against the best local offense that they’ve seen this season.

7. (8) Ponte Vedra (7-2, Class 5A)

Last week: beat IMG Academy White, 27-14. This week: vs. Creekside (5-4).

Glance: The Sharks aren’t district champs but they’ll still go into the state playoffs with a high seed. They’d like to go into the postseason with a rivalry win over the Knights.

8. (5) Oakleaf (6-3, Class 6A)

Last week: lost to Mandarin, 18-7. This week: vs. Tocoi Creek (4-5).

Glance: The Knights missed a chance to bring home a district championship last week and will likely have to start their postseason on the road. Oakleaf needs to touch up things on offense after last week.

9. (9) Fleming Island (6-3, Class 5A)

Last week: beat Middleburg, 42-6. This week: vs. Fort White (5-3).

Glance: The Golden Eagles are district champs and have pummeled their last three opponents, Beachside, Parker and Middleburg. They still need to improve their playoff points standings and a win here will help.

10. (10) Flagler Palm Coast (7-1, Class 7A)

Last week: beat Spruce Creek, 50-39. This week: vs. Matanzas (4-5).

Glance: The Bulldogs get rival Matanzas in the Potato Bowl this week. They need to win out, root for a loss by Orange City University and pull for a significant points jump to win the District 2-7A title by a tiebreaker. It’s a longshot but FPC is still playoff bound.
