Rank, previous, School, Record, Classification

1. (1) Raines (9-0, Class 3A)

Last week: Off. This week: vs. Bay (5-5), Region 1-3A quarterfinals, 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Vikings are unbeaten at this point for the first time since 1997. They have a relatively smooth path in the region before things ramp up. The schedule hasn’t been particularly difficult over the past month but Raines should be well rested and prepared for what could be a championship season.

2. (2) Nease (9-0, Class 6A)

Last week: beat Bartram Trail, 56-42. This week: vs. Tate (7-3), Region 1-6A quarterfinals, 7 p.m.

Glance: The Panthers wrapped up their first perfect regular season since 2006 and now they’ve got a brutal region ahead. Tate is a tough opener, followed by the Mandarin-Oakleaf winner.

3. (3) St. Augustine (8-1, Class 6A)

Last week: Off. This week: vs. Columbia (5-5), Region 1-4A quarterfinals, 7 p.m.

Glance: The Yellow Jackets are poised for another collision with Choctawhatchee in the regional final, but they should win this one without much trouble. A return to the state championship game is going to be a tough assignment.

4. (4) Bolles (8-1, Class 2A)

Last week: Off. This week: vs. Taylor County (7-3), Region 1-2A quarterfinals, 7:30 p.m.

Glance: The Bulldogs have won eight straight games but Taylor County won’t be a pushover. A second-round game against Pensacola Catholic looms.

5. (5) Bradford (8-1, Class 2A)

Last week: Off. This week: vs. Villages (5-4), Region 2-2A quarterfinals, 7:30 p.m.

Glance: The Tornadoes had the misfortune of slipping from No. 1 in the region to No. 2, and with it, the assignment of having to face Newberry in the second round instead of a possible regional final. They should roll in this game.

6. (6) Mandarin (7-3, Class 6A)

Last week: Off. This week: vs. Oakleaf (7-3), Region 1-6A quarterfinals, 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Mustangs have already beaten Oakleaf this season, locking the Knights down defensively. Can they stack another win and move on? Despite playing for a state championship last season after five postseason games on the road, this is Mandarin’s first home playoff game since 2022.

7. (7) Ponte Vedra (8-2, Class 5A)

Last week: Off. This week: vs. Beachside (7-3), Region 1-5A quarterfinals, 7 p.m.

Glance: The Sharks got a break with a No. 4 seed, finishing two spots higher than district champ Fleming Island. Ponte Vedra has a 17-14 win over the Barracudas this season. A win means a likely trip to the Panhandle and No. 1 Niceville in the second round.

8. (8) Oakleaf (7-3, Class 6A)

Last week: Off. This week: at Mandarin (7-3), Region 1-6A quarterfinals, 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Knights get a quick rematch against the Mustangs, who beat them for the District 2-6A title on Oct. 25. Has Oakleaf figured out a way to solve that Mandarin defense?

9. (9) Fleming Island (7-3, Class 5A)

Last week: Off. This week: at (3) Mosley (9-1), Region 1-5A quarterfinals, 8 p.m.

Glance: The Golden Eagles got a brutal reward for being a district champ, a No. 6 seed in 1-5A and a long trip to the Panhandle. Teams they beat, Beach and Ponte Vedra, earned higher seeds and get to face one another in town.

10. (10) Flagler Palm Coast (9-1, Class 7A)

Last week: beat DeLand, 62-57. This week: vs. Spruce Creek (7-3), Region 1-7A quarterfinals, 7 p.m.

Glance: The Bulldogs have a sterling regular season under their belt, their best since a 9-0 run in 2017. Can they win their first playoff game since 2007? They’ve already beaten Spruce Creek once this year and FPC’s offense is buzzing. A win means a likely showdown with No. 1 seed Lake Mary.
