Well, here we are again after a bye week that did not result in anyone being fired. The Jaguars are back at home with an AFC South matchup against the Texans. Now, part of me really wants to pick the Jaguars and I know I always say that, but I can see them coming back refreshed after the bye week. But with nothing being changed off the field, I feel that means nothing will change on the field. Yes, the team will have Trevor Lawrence back and that will help. In the end I think it will be a close game like the last one and the Texans will find a way just to make one more play. Give me Houston with the win. — Texans 24, Jaguars 21.

It’s been a miserable season for the Jaguars, I’d say one of the most disappointing in the franchise’s 30-year history. The final stretch is favorable for Jacksonville and I think it can actually put together a bit of a solid close. The Texans are struggling and are trying to fight off the type of finish that Jacksonville suffered last year to miss the playoffs. Trevor Lawrence should return this week and the Jaguars were barely a functional offense with him out of the lineup. It’ll be close but I think Houston has a bit more to play for at this point. — Texans 30, Jaguars 24.

Will one week off change the Jaguars season struggles? We’ll have to wait and see Sunday against the Texans. I think having Trevor Lawrence back will help a ton. Earlier in the season, Jacksonville was so close to beating Houston, but a late touchdown drive with only seconds left was the deal breaker. I think the bye week was needed to halt the downward spiral the team was on and hopefully spark some victories to close out the season. — Jaguars 24, Texans 20.

My picks are in the dirt this year. But just like the Jags, with a little help, I could still be in contention. Hopefully, the Jags will help me this week by being consistent. Getting Trevor Lawrence back will help the team a little bit but not enough to believe they will get the win this week. — Texans 27, Jaguars 21.
