1. (1) Mandarin (8-0-2, Class 6A)
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Beachside, Englewood, Stanton, Wolfson.
Notable: The Mustangs haven’t played since a 2-1 win over Bartram Trail on Dec. 19. They will start 2025 trying to win the Gateway Conference tournament for the fifth consecutive season. Daniel Moreno, David Garcia, Robert Calazans, Omar Trto, Artur DeFreitas and Emir Trto are leading Mandarin with a combined 44 goals. Moreno leads the team with 15. Mandarin is ranked No. 5 in the country by MaxPreps.
2. (2) Creekside (9-1-2, Class 7A)
Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Englewood, Nease, Ponte Vedra, Sandalwood, St. Joseph
Notable: The Knights have been off since a 2-1 win over Nease on Dec. 19. They return to the field Jan. 8 against St. Augustine. Eric Camero, Javier Aponte, Luke Amman and Michael Donahue have a combined 23 goals. The Knights’ only loss is to Spruce Creek, and they’ve got ties with Mandarin and Fleming Island.
3. (3) Bartram Trail (7-2-3, Class 6A)
Quality wins: Nease, Ocoee, Spruce Creek, Tocoi Creek.
Notable: The Bears’ last game was a 2-1 loss against No. 1 Mandarin. They are back in action Jan. 8 at No. 4 Fleming Island. Michael Russell and Brady Bless have combined to score 20 goals.
4. (5) Fleming Island (9-1-4, Class 5A)
Quality wins: Beachside, Nease.
Notable: The Golden Eagles had just one game since our last Super 6, a 2-0 win over Gainesville. They’re back in action Saturday against Tallahassee Leon. Ryker Dailey and Ethan Medlock have combined to score 21 goals. Daniel Vizcarrondo and Blake Gaucher have a combined 14 scores.
5. (5) Wolfson (11-1-2, Class 3A)
Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Bishop Kenny, Episcopal, Matanzas.
Notable: The Wolfpack haven’t lost since Nov. 26 to Mandarin, and they could very well see the Mustangs again in next week’s Gateway Conference tournament. They’re off until January. James O’Neal (16 goals), Grady Lewis (9 goals) and Raphael Eccher (8 goals) lead the Wolfpack.
T6. (T6) Sandalwood (7-1-1, Class 7A)
Quality wins: Christ’s Church, Oakleaf
Notable: The Saints have Stanton up first in the Gateway Conference tournament. Mohammed Jaber (9 goals) and Simon Castellanos, Charlie Geist and Damarcus Manns (3 goals apiece) lead Sandalwood.
T6. (T6) Ponte Vedra (7-2, Class 5A)
Quality wins: Fleming Island, Nease, Oakleaf, Tocoi Creek.
Notable: The Sharks are back in action Jan. 6 at St. Augustine. They’re coming off a 3-0 loss to Clay in their last match out.
