JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Seven area girls soccer teams won their first-round playoff games on Tuesday night.
Christ’s Church, Episcopal, Fernandina Beach, Providence, St. Johns Country Day, University Christian, and Wolfson all won in their openers. Wolfson’s win over Bolles, a 1-0 classic in Region 1-3A, was the night’s biggest surprise. The Wolfpack were a No. 7 seed and Bolles a No. 2.

St. Johns CD and Providence both won in mercy rule romps. All teams advance to Friday night’s regional semifinals.
Wednesday is another big night for girls soccer teams.
Bartram Trail (1-6A), Ponte Vedra (1-5A), Bishop Kenny and Stanton (both 1-4A) all play for berths in the state semifinals .
