1. Bolles (3-0, Class 1A)
Quality win: Bishop Verot.
Notable: The Bulldogs went 21-3 last season and lost in the state championship game. They have thrived under head coach Tom West, and will push again for one of the state’s best in 1A. They haven’t lost to a local team since 2021 (Creekside on Feb. 22). Bolles doesn’t have the experience it had but the tradition is tough to beat.
2. Ponte Vedra (2-0, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Creekside, Winter Park.
Notable: Solid Ws to open the season for the Sharks. They lost in the regional finals last to eventual state champ Lake Mary. Ponte Vedra plays a heavyweight schedule and hasn’t lost to a local team since 2021 (9-8 to Creekside on April 15).
3. Nease (1-1, Class 2A)
Quality wins: None.
Notable: The Panthers are coming off a 15-7 season, with local losses to Bolles, Ponte Vedra and Fletcher. They’ve beaten Fleming Island (12-3) and lost to Oak Hall (9-4) to start the season.
4. Creekside (1-1, Class 2A)
Quality wins: None.
Notable: A 10-8 season for the Knights which included three losses to Ponte Vedra. They’ve got tough matches up this week against Starr’s Mill and Allatoona.
5. Fletcher (2-0, Class 2A)
Quality win: St. Augustine.
Notable: The Senators went 13-5 last year with their only local losses to Bolles, Ponte Vedra, Nease and Creekside. Bryden Speeg (nine goals) and Ozzie Covelli (six goals) have started strong for Fletcher.
6. Episcopal (2-0, Class 1A)
Quality win: Menendez.
Notable: The Eagles went 14-9 last year before running into Bolles in the second round of the playoffs. They’ve pounded Menendez and Flagler Palm Coast by a combined 42-1.
