JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Episcopal and St. Johns Country Day are moving on to the girls soccer state semifinals.
The Eagles won in dramatic fashion, beating top-seeded Gainesville P.K. Yonge in penalty kicks, 4-2. The teams played to a 1-all draw across 80 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods. Episcopal will face Ransom Everglades on Feb. 27 at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand in the Class 2A state semis.

St. Johns Country Day had an easier time in its Region 1-1A final, beating University Christian 7-0. Madisyn Bauman and Reygan Ropero scored two goals apiece for the Spartans (18-3-1), who will try and win their 15th state championship next week. St. Johns faces South Florida HEAT in the state semifinals with a potential championship on March 1.
