Rank, School, Record, Classification

1. (1) Trinity Christian (2-0, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Beachside, University Christian.

Notable: Tyler Ellis, Griffin Edenfield and Merrick Beamish had a combined no-hitter in the opener, a 9-0 win over Beachside. They combined for a whopping 18 Ks, with Ellis whiffing nine in four innings. Trinity followed with a 5-2 win over a quality UC on Thursday night. One week into the regular season, the Conquerors look good.

2. (2) Bolles (4-0, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Ponte Vedra, St. Johns Country Day, University Christian.

Notable: Quality week for the Bulldogs, who beat UC (3-2) and Wolfson (11-5) since our last Super 6. Gabe Gonzalez (.571) and Denzel Del Valle Delgado (.500) are the top batters, with four pitchers each earning decisions. Good one against unbeaten Englewood on Feb. 25.

3. (5) Bishop Snyder (4-0, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Baldwin, Columbia.

Notable: Three wins since our last Super 6 (4-3 over Columbia, 13-3 over Trinity Catholic and 15-5 over Ridgeview). Cody Boshell has a pair of homers. Tripp Hannah is 8 for 16 to start. Jack Rauch is 2-0 with a 2.10 ERA on the bump. Great open for Snyder.

4. (3) St. Johns Country Day (1-2, Class 1A)

Quality win: Bishop Kenny.

Notable: The defending 1A state champs have lost to No. 2 Bolles and unbeaten Lincoln. TJ Sunderhaus is hitting .455 for the Spartans. Brayden Harris is leading the staff (1-0, 13 Ks, 5.2 IP, 0.00 ERA). St. Johns has a tough schedule, so losses shouldn’t be unexpected here and there.

5. (NR) Providence (3-1, Class 2A)

Quality wins: Clay, Ponte Vedra.

Notable: The Stallions have won three straight since a 2-1 loss to Creekside to open the season. They beat previous No. 6 Clay (3-2) and a solid Ponte Vedra (5-4) since our last update. Big one next Friday against Bishop Snyder. Grant Sheppard (.500) and Landis Pickett (2-0, 1.56 ERA) are the top performers for the Stallions.

6. (NR) Fernandina Beach (4-0, Class 3A)

Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Bishop Kenny, Fletcher.

Notable: The Pirates were a Super 6 team last season and they move in for Week 2 after a quality start, just ahead of Episcopal and Englewood. They’ve got Wolfson, Hilliard and Oakleaf up over the next week.
