Glance: The Stallions are in the state semifinals for the third consecutive season and fourth time in program history. Each trip to Lakeland, they’ve had the misfortune of running into Miami Country Day, twice in the semis and once in the final (2017). They’ve lost by 22, 25 and 22. They beat Miami SLAM Academy 77-18 in the 2017 semifinals. Providence didn’t lose to a local team all season and lost just twice to teams from Florida (Cardinal Mooney, Williston). They enter on a 10-game winning streak. Janie Boyd (14 ppg), Kasey Davey (13 ppg, 8.3 rpg), Julianna Baskin (9.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg), Kennedy Loux (9.2 ppg) and Janai Jordan (9.2 ppg) lead the area’s deepest lineup. A win would send the Stallions to their second state title game, with a likely clash against Miami Country Day.
