1. (1) Trinity Christian (6-1, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Beachside, Columbia, Creekside, North Marion, University Christian.
Notable: The Conquerors took their first loss of the season (5-3) to an 8-0 Buchholz, but that’s not a bad defeat. They added wins over Columbia (9-2) and Flagler Palm Coast (6-1). Ethan Wheeler (.500), Gage Petrutz (.370), Aiden Arnett (.364) and Brady Harris (.320) are leading a stacked Trinity lineup. Aaron Watson had his best outing on the mound in the win over FPC (6 IP, 13 Ks, 2 hits).
2. (NR) Providence (8-2, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Bishop Snyder, Bolles, Clay, John Carroll Catholic, Ponte Vedra, University Christian.
Notable: After a week out of the Super 6, the Stallions surge back in on the heels of a very impressive run. That stretch has included wins over John Carroll Catholic, Bolles and Bishop Snyder.
3. (2) Bishop Snyder (8-1, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Baldwin, Columbia, Ponte Vedra, Sandalwood, Tocoi Creek.
Notable: The Cardinals bounced back from their first loss of the year to Providence with Ws over Sandalwood (3-0) and Ponte Vedra (11-1). Clash against No. 1 Trinity ahead on Friday night. Tripp Hannah is hitting .452 and Josh Murray follows at .355.
4. (4) St. Johns Country Day (9-2, Class 1A)
Quality win: Baldwin, Maclay, Middleburg, Valdosta (Ga.), Suwannee
Notable: The defending 1A state champs have put things together, winning eight straight since a loss to Lincoln. The other loss came to Bolles in the opener. Big one on deck Friday night against Clay. Preston Cole (.455), TJ Sunderhaus (.436) and Brayden Harris (.395) lead the offense.
5. (5) Fernandina Beach (8-0, Class 3A)
Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Englewood, Fletcher.
Notable: The Pirates continue to look sharp. Their best win of the season came in a 3-1 game over a quality Englewood in eight innings. Yulee and Nease are up next this week. Tanner Jones (.414, HR) leads Fernandina Beach at the plate.
T6. (3) Bolles (8-2, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Ponte Vedra, St. Johns Country Day, University Christian.
Notable: The Bulldogs went 1-1 since our last Super 6, losing to red-hot Providence (8-7) and then belting both Menendez (8-2) and Oakleaf (13-7). Gabe Gonzalez (.429, 2 HR) and Denzel Del Valle Delgado (.417) lead the Bulldogs.
T6. (NR) Clay (9-2, Class 5A)
Quality wins: Baker County, Episcopal, Keystone Heights, South Palding (Ga.)
Notable: The Blue Devils move back into the Super 6 after a couple weeks out. They beat previously ranked Episcopal (3-0) since our last rankings. They’ve got a big showdown Friday night against St. Johns Country Day.
