1. (1) Atlantic Coast (12-1, Class 7A)
Quality wins: Baldwin, Bishop Kenny, Creekside, Episcopal, Fleming Island, Fletcher.
Notable: The Stingrays are cooking! They’ve won 12 consecutive games since a season-opening loss to Tocoi Creek. Since our pause for spring break, Atlantic Coast beat quality teams Mandarin (5-1) and Fleming Island (1-0). They’ve got Fletcher, a good Paxon and First Cost up next. Stella Lynton (.487), Skye Deans (.429) and Morgan Brown (.429) are surging. Emma Cano ais right behind at .389. In the circle, Brown is 10-1 with 90 Ks in 74.1 IP.
2. (4) Baldwin (9-3, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Baker County, Bartram Trail, Mandarin, Paxon, Trinity Catholic.
Notable: The Indians are up to six consecutive wins, including a comebacker in the top of the seventh in a 3-2 win over Bartram Trail on Tuesday night. A 10-4 Columbia is up next on Thursday night. Kendall North (.629, 14 RBI, 2 HR), Makaila Fry (.457, 17 RBI) and Jazmine Ramos-Merced (.395, 3 HR, 17 RBI) are leading the way among the regulars for Baldwin.
3. (2) Baker County (9-2-1, Class 4A)
Quality wins: Columbia, Fort White, Hilliard, Keystone Heights (twice), Oakleaf, West Nassau.
Notable: The Wildcats lost a 5-2 game to a 10-1 power in Montverde before bouncing back with wins over quality teams in Trinity Catholic (9-4) and Oakleaf (3-2). Baleigh Shields (.425, 2 HR), Nasia Green (.389) and Chloe Johnson (.375) are leading the Baker County regulars.
4. (5) Paxon (10-1, Class 3A)
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Mandarin, Ponte Vedra, Yulee.
Notable: The Golden Eagles beat Fernandina Beach (9-0), Yulee (5-4) and First Coast (10-0) since our last Super 6. Big clash on Friday at No. 1 Atlantic Coast. Hayley Hinds fired a no-hitter in that win over the Buccaneers. They’ve won seven straight.
5. (6) Ponte Vedra (9-2, Class 5A)
Quality wins: Beachside, Creekside, Fletcher, Menendez.
Notable: The Sharks went 2-1 since our last Super 6, including a 5-1 win over Creekside and a 9-0 rout of Keystone Heights before a 6-4 loss to a better-than-its-record Providence. Natasha Deutch (.441), Aoife Weaver (.421, HR), Emma Shin (.394) and Addison Siebenaler (.385) are leading the Sharks.
T6. (NR) Creekside (9-2, Class 7A)
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Fleming Island, Mandarin, Menendez, Middleburg, Trinity Catholic, West Nassau.
Notable: The Knights are back in the Super 6 after a week out. They’ve lost to Atlantic Coast and Ponte Vedra, no shame in that. Big win over Middleburg (4-2) on Tuesday to usher them back into the rankings. Four good games led this week in the Doc4Life tournament (Forest, Parrish Community, Westminster Christian and George Jenkins).
T6. (3) Middleburg (9-4, Class 5A)
Quality wins: Baldwin, Cornerstone Charter, Episcopal, Keystone Heights, Oakleaf, Trinity Catholic, West Nassau, Yulee.
Notable: The Broncos stretched their winning streak to seven before a 4-2 loss to Creekside on Tuesday. They visit a powerful Baker County on Thursday night. Emma Ward (.444) leads the offense followed by Mika Wesley (.432), Kerra Clarida (.429) and Mallory Ficklin (371).
