JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Icemen battled to the bitter end but couldn’t find a way to topple their biggest rival.
Jacksonville’s playoff journey ended on Thursday night with a 4-3 loss to Everblades in the opening round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. The Game 4 loss was just like the previous three, an overtime defeat that led to an agonizing sweep. The Everblades have won seven consecutive playoff games over the Icemen, including coming back from a 3-1 series deficit last year in the second round.

Despite another season of 40 or more wins (Jacksonville was 42-22-7 in the regular season) the Icemen lost for the fifth time in five playoff seasons to Florida. The Everblades have ended Jacksonville’s seasons in 2019, 2022, ’23-’25.
Jacksonville scored first in this one, a breakaway goal from Logan Cockerill for a 1-0 lead. The Everblades surged back to go up 3-1 before the Icemen managed to battle back to even, the tying goal on a shot by Cockerill.
