The Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs have agreed to a new contract for the annual rivalry game and the deal is on the agenda to be finalized at next Tuesday's meeting of Jacksonville City Council.
According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, Florida and Georgia will be paid out a combined $2.75 million over the next five seasons. The contract calls for a minimum guaranteed payment of $250,000 each year and a $125,000 signing bonus. The teams will also split the gate at each game as has been the case in the past.

The Bulldogs will receive $350,000 to charter a plane for each trip rather than make the five-hour drive from Athens. Both teams will be given a $60,000 stipend for additional travel and lodging.
The city is also being charged with funding the cost for a pair of sponsor-free permanent fixtures at EverBank Field noting that it is the host for the game.
Georgia leads Florida 49-43-2 all-time in the series, but the Gators have won three straight and 21 of the last 27 against the Dawgs dating back to 1990.
UF-UGA historically kicks off around Halloween each year. This year's game will be played on Saturday, Oct. 28. Future game dates are Oct. 27, 2018, Oct. 26 or Nov. 2, 2019, Oct. 31, 2020 and Oct. 30, 2021.
