WJXT-TV4 rated No. 1 in all newscasts in May 2015

News4Jax sweeps all newscasts in Nielsen ratings period

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – WJXT-TV4, The Local Station, is No. 1 for news in Jacksonville television market for the May 2015 Nielsen ratings period.

In morning news, Channel 4 is No. 1 at 5 a.m. with a 3.4 household and No. 1 at 5:30am with a 4.8 household rating. The 5 a.m. newscast beat the combined competition of WTLV/WJXX, WJAX and WFOX by 183 percent and 5:30 a.m. beat all other local newscasts by 167 percent.

Channel 4's 6 a.m. newscast is No. 1 in household ratings in the time period, garnering a 7.0 household rating and a 24 share. The Morning Show (7-9 a.m.), anchored by Jennifer Waugh, Bruce Hamilton and Richard Nunn, is No. 1 in the time period with a 6.3 rating and a 19 share, beating all other newscasts, including the national broadcasts of NBC's Today Show on WTLV (2.3 rating/7 share), CBS This Morning on WJAX (1.7 rating/5 share) and ABC's Good Morning America on WJXX (2.6 rating/8 share).

At noon, Channel 4 beat WJAX and the WTLV/WJXX simulcast newscasts, ending the sweep with a 4.1 household rating and a 12 share.

In evening news, Channel 4's 5 p.m. newscast is No. 1 in the time period with a 6.4 household rating and a 14 share (compared to WTLV/WJXX 3.0 rating/6 share and WJAX 3.9 rating/ 8 share). Channel 4 News at 5:30 p.m. is No. 1 in the time period with a 7.2 household rating and a 15 share (compared to WTLV/WJXX 3.6 rating/7 share and WJAX 4.3 rating/9 share).

News4Jax at 6 p.m., anchored by Mary Baer, Tom Wills, John Gaughan and Sam Kouvaris, is No. 1 with an 8.2 household rating and a 16 share (compared to WTLV/WJXX 5.4 rating/11 share and WJAX 5.0 rating/10 share). Channel 4's 6:30 p.m. newscast is No. 1, beating national news programming with a 7.0 household rating and a 13 share (compared to WTLV 6.1 rating/11 share, WJXX 2.2 rating/4 share and WJAX 4.6 rating/9 share).

In late news, WJXT is No. 1 with The Ten O'Clock News, beating WFOX by 96 percent for the 10-11 p.m. hour. At 11 p.m., WJXT was No. 1 with a 5.1 household rating and an 11 share (compared to WTLV/WJXX 4.9 rating/10 share and WJAX 3.3 rating/7 share).
