Florida Associated Press Broadcasters honors News4Jax with 20 awards

ORLANDO, Fla. – At its annual awards ceremony Saturday night, the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Awards honored WJXT with 13 first-place awards and seven second-place trophies.

In addition to Station of the Year honors, News4Jax.com also received top honors as the best medium-market news website in Florida. Individual awards were given to long-time WJXT anchor, Tom Wills, chief meteorologist John Gaughan and I-TEAM reporter Lynnsey Gardner.

"It’s incredibly gratifying to be recognized as Station of the Year particularly when it’s determined by a vote of your peers,” said WJXT/WCWJ vice-president and general manager, Bob Ellis.  "The News4Jax staff works hard every day with a single focus to serve this community on every platform.  I’m so pleased their tireless commitment is being acknowledged as the top station, not just in Jacksonville, but in the entire state of Florida."
