Cherish Geter has established a successful career in the broadcast television industry, beginning at WFXG-TV in Augusta, Georgia. Over the years, she has had the privilege of working with three powerhouse television stations, each holding the #1 position in their respective markets. Her journey includes significant roles at WSB-TV in Atlanta, the top-rated station in the USA, and WJBF-TV in Augusta, a dominant legacy station, where she made remarkable strides in digital revenue growth. Currently, she serves as the General Sales Manager for WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida.
Cherish holds a bachelor’s degree in TV Cinema from Augusta University and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Howard University. Her thesis, "Mysticism of the Film Experience: A Hegelian Aesthetic toward Film," reflects a profound intellectual engagement with the intersection of philosophy and media.
During her tenure at WJBF-TV, she elevated the station to one of the top 25 in digital revenue for Nexstar in market #110, beginning as Digital Sales Manager and advancing to Director of Sales. Cherish is a principled and analytical leader who leverages data-driven insights to foster a competitive edge, committed to ethical leadership and ensuring equitable treatment for all stakeholders while using empirical evidence to guide strategies and drive organizational success.
Cherish is married to Eddie Geter and has two children: a son named Justice and a daughter named Liberty. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in water activities with her family.
