David Dwork

Digital Journalist

David Dwork joined the WPLG Local 10 News team in August 2019.

Born in Miami and raised in North Miami Beach, David has been involved in journalism since grade school, doing the daily TV news from grade four through 12. He attended Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School and was part of its magnet program for Television Production.

Following high school, David pursued his childhood dream of becoming a professional hockey goalie and began his career playing Junior A hockey in Jackson, Michigan for the Jackson Prowlers (CEHL).  He also played for the Exeter Seawolves in Exeter, New Hampshire (IJHL) and for the South Jersey Scarlet Raptors in Pennsauken, New Jersey (CHA).

In 2007 David began his professional career as an intern for the Miami Heat, working with the Sun Sports television crew on game broadcasts. After that, he began interning at WAXY 790 "The Ticket" and was hired as a show producer and field reporter, eventually earning shifts as an on-air host and update anchor.

After four years at WAXY, David moved across the street to 560 WQAM. He became the executive producer of the University of Miami Hurricanes football broadcasts while producing the daily 10am-1pm time slot and continuing to cover games and practices for all local sports teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat and Florida Panthers.

David also ran SB Nation's Miami Heat blog from 2008 to 2012, providing original written content while covering the team on a daily basis.

In 2014 David transitioned into television and began working for WFOR-CBS Miami as a web journalist, providing original content on sports, news and politics.

When he isn’t providing content for Local 10, David is often out and about with his wife Jaime and son Tyler.  The family works with several South Florida charities and enjoys going to the beach and looking for fun new restaurants around town. David also still plays ice hockey and enjoys a good poker game with friends.
