AT&T says U-verse service being restored

No description found

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Television, phone and Internet service for AT&T's U-verse customers across Florida and a dozen other states is being restored Thursday, according to a spokeswoman for the telecommunications company.

Some customers said they lost service around 9 p.m. Monday, and complaints were still coming in Thursday morning. Channel 4 was told the outage occurred after a software upgrade and affected about 1 percent of AT&T customers, mostly those with bundled services.

"U-verse service has been restored for the vast majority of our customers affected by the outage," AT&T spokeswoman Gretchen Schultz said in a statement released Thursday morning. "We expect any remaining customer issues will be resolved this morning. We will provide a credit to customers who were affected. We know our customers count on their U-verse service and we apologize for the inconvenience."

Users on forums on AT&T's website also reported outages as far away as Little Rock, Ark., and Oklahoma City.

"We know that a limited number of customers are experiencing trouble with their U-verse service," AT&T wrote on its Facebook page on Wednesday. "We're working to resolve remaining service issues as quickly as possible. At this time, we've identified an issue with a server that supports U-verse. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience."
