I know Doug Marrone didn’t announce his decision after the game, but I can’t imagine going back to Glennon at this point. In all likelihood, it’s going to be Minshew starting these next three games and the teams seeing what he can do. You’re not going to see any of those players, Glennon, Jake Luton or Minshew, here long term. At 1-7, Jacksonville owns the second worst record in the NFL this season. On Monday, News4Jax spoke with some die-hard Jaguars fans who say they still love the team, but they want to see their faith rewarded with more wins. News4Jax Jaguars Analyst and former quarterback Mark Brunell, who led the team to the franchise’s first playoff appearances in 1996 and 1999, said he understands why fans are frustrated. As recently as 2017, the Jaguars won their first AFC South title before falling to the New England Patriots in the conference title game.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have been here before. The Jaguars (1-6) are last in the AFC South, the same spot they occupied in each of the last two seasons and three times in the last four years. The Texans haven’t brought up the rear in the South since 2013. Justin: I think it’s too early to say he’s overmatched or that he’s a franchise QB. And with about two minutes left in the fourth quarter, I thought it would be even more daunting to come back. The one thing weve been able to count on week to week has been the play of our sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew II. It sounds like the play of a quarterback whos been playing in the NFL for a number of years. But an injury changed all of that and Minshew has responded to that challenge better than anyone could have expected. But I do know the guy leading them is going to compete and do everything he can to win football games.
