The regional theme park company Adventure Landing, which owns a water park in Jacksonville Beach, has been fined by the U.S. Department of Labor for violating child labor laws.

The recent hot temperatures have increased attendance at Adventure Landing as visitors try to beat the heat.

Adventure Landing’s showcase attraction, Shipwreck Island Waterpark, will open for the 2024 season on March 15 for Spring Break.

Adventure Landing is here to stay a little for a little while longer.

Efforts to convert the site of the amusement park into housing started in June 2021.

Jacksonville Beach is moving forward on a project to replace the Adventure Landing amusement water park on Beach Boulevard.

Their summertime showcase is Shipwreck Island Water Park, featuring the Little St. Johns River and Typhoon Lagoon – a half-million-gallon wave pool, and 4Xtreme slides.

Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach will stay open until Dec. 31.

With the Adventure Landing location on Beach Boulevard expected to close by the end of the year, there are plans to turn the site into a multifamily apartment complex.

A day after Adventure Landing closed the doors of its Westside site, a Jacksonville Beach City Council meeting was held Monday to discuss plans for the Beach Boulevard location.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - A bicyclist has died after he was hit by a car near Adventure Landing, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. Larry Smith said the 29-year-old man was a transient who was hit at10:37 p.m. on Beach Boulevard and 20th Street North. He was transported to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries where he later died. Officers said the driver was cooperating and did not appear to be at fault.
