They had reached the 1994 Grey Cup game in their first year of existence, losing 26-23 to the B.C. The Grey Cup title was the first of three for Pringle, the others coming with Montreal (2002) and Edmonton (2003). It was the Grey Cup and the biggest game in Canada for the CFL, and we knew the significance of it.The euphoria was short-lived. We were all CFL players going after a CFL championship and I hope thats what people remember.

Modell owned the Browns from 1961 to 1995, when he struck a deal with the NFL and the city of Cleveland that allowed him to move his team while relinquishing ownership of the Browns' name, colors, logos and history, paving the way for a new Cleveland Browns team that resumed play in 1999.
