Atlantic Beach Police confirmed crews located a man’s body in the water just north of 19th Street in Atlantic Beach.

Late last year, a prominent Northeast Florida businessman and well-known political donor Kent Stermon was found dead in his truck at the Mayport Post Office in Atlantic Beach. No foul play is suspected.

Nearly two years later, Jaden Perkins pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder in court Thursday, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
