BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - Two people were arrested after a SWAT team and detectives with the Baker County Sheriff's Office raided a suspected drug house near a preschool and an elementary school in the Macclenny area, authorities said. Deputies pointed out that the preschool also sits in front of Macclenny Elementary School on County Road 23B. The Sheriff's Office noted that detectives previously seized 43 grams of methamphetamine and arrested a dealer out of the same house in September. According to the Sheriff's Office, Kelly Prowant, 36, was also arrested at the scene after methamphetamine and drug equipment was found in the bedroom that she claimed she had recently been living in. The Baker County Sheriff's Office is asking the community for help to find a missing man who is believed to be endangered. Harold Alan Hare, 38, was reported missing Oct. 13. He was last seen by his daughter on Sept. 30 after he left her home in Macclenny on foot. Harold suffers from several health issues that may require medical attention, and he was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and a camouflage hat that displayed the number "88" on the front. Anyone who has been in contact with Harold or has any information about his potential whereabouts is asked to call the Baker County Sheriff's Office at 904-259-2861.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A 15-year-old Baker County High School student was arrested Monday after a teacher confiscated his notebook, which outlined strategies for carrying out a mass shooting at the school, authorities said. After the teacher overheard students talking about the notebook and took it from the student, school resource deputies removed the teenage boy from class. During an interview with a detective, the student admitted writing the plans, but that "everything was a joke," the Sheriffs Office report said. I feel very safe with my child here," said Jane Leapour, the mother a Baker County student. The Baker County School District as a "see something, say something" phone line set up for people to call if they notice any type of concerning behavior.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - The Baker County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday that a number of people were arrested on drug-related charges during September. Deputies said all the suspects are charged with crimes related to the illegal sale or trafficking of methamphetamine. Narcotics detectives recovered several ounces of meth during the arrests, and all the accused remain in custody at the Baker County Detention Center. BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A man was arrested Monday after meth and ecstasy was discovered during a traffic stop, the Baker County Sheriff's Office said. Roger Scott Woods, 46, of Glen St. Mary, is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation. Since an arrest warrant charging Woods with violating the terms of his probation had been previously issued, according to the Sheriff's Office, narcotics detective took a "special interest in apprehending him" during the traffic stop Monday afternoon. The Sheriff's Office noted that Woods was sentenced Aug. 27 to five years of drug offender probation. During the traffic stop, detectives said they located 10.5 grams of methamphetamine, several ecstasy pills and numerous plastic baggies, which were hidden inside a fake WD-40 can.

The student admitted writing the plans but denied intent to carry them out, officials with the Sheriff's Office said. "The cooperative effort between the Baker County School System and the Baker County Sheriff's Office to train and inform staff allowed for a quick response and removal of the student from campus," Sheriff Scotty Rhoden said. As a community, we will continue to work together to keep our children safe.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - The Baker County Sheriff's Office two Brunswick, Georgia, men are facing a slew of charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, battery on a police K-9 and armed burglary after a traffic stop. Alce, who had been driving the car, pulled a pistol from his waistband and pointed it at a deputy during the chase before disappearing into the dark, according to the Baker County Sheriff's Office. The deputies said they called in police dogs to help in the search and Alce was caught after K-9 Audie sniffed him out as he tried to hide in a closet at a Travelodge. Deputies said Alce tried to punch the K-9 but lost that fight and was taken into custody, and a handgun was found nearby. Investigators said they recovered two pistols and about 5 ounces of a drug known as bath salts.

MACCLENNY, Fla. - Days after a 3-year-old boy was rescued from a hot car in Baker County, News4Jax spoke with the deputies who answered that 911 call. The call came into the Baker County Sheriffs Office about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 22. Deputies learned the boy was passed out inside a locked car that wasnt running as temperatures reached 94 degrees outside. By the time deputies got there, the childs parents had smashed a window to free their son. The mother was released from the Baker County jail Monday after posting $5,000 bond on the condition that she has no contact with the victim.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A mother was arrested after a 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive inside a locked car Thursday afternoon in Baker County, authorities said. The Baker County Sheriff's Office responded about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home near Oc Horne Road after receiving a 911 call regarding an unresponsive toddler locked inside a vehicle that was not running. She then discovered that the front door of their home was open and that's when the mother found the toddler inside the locked car, where some of his toys had been kept. Child hot car dangersNationwide, there have been 35 child hot car deaths, including four in Florida, this year, according to KidsAndCars.org. In March, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the baby girl was found unconscious in a van at a day care on the Westside and died.

Arrest reports from the Baker County Sheriff's Office show the two nursing assistants worked at the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center. The Sheriff's Office said surveillance video shows Rikki Davis, 21, and Trestany Wilkerson, 20, forcefully push the woman onto a bed. According to the Sheriff's Office, the patient is legally blind, has osteoporosis and was being treated for a spinal injury. Both nurses were suspended and banned from the building, the Sheriff's Office said. A request for an interview with the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center was not immediately returned Monday.

MACCLENNY, Fla. - Two nursing assistants who worked at the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center have been arrested after they were accused of abusing an elderly patient, according to an arrest report from the Baker County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office said the nursing assistants were helping an 85-year-old woman get dressed for breakfast on Aug. 2 when the incident took place. The Sheriff's Office said the woman was then thrown into a wheelchair. According to the Sheriff's Office, the patient is legally blind, has osteoporosis and was being treated for a spinal injury. Macclenny Nursing and Rehab said Davis and Wilkerson were fired.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A man suspected of violating probation was arrested after leading deputies on a brief chase in Macclenny, according to the Baker County Sheriff's Office. On Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office posted a mug photo of 28-year-old Mark Stoddard on Facebook, saying he was wanted on an outstanding warrant when he fled a home on Ray Phillips Road. Stoddard led deputies on a short-lived chase through the woods that came to an abrupt end when he was taken into custody behind a nearby auto collision center, according to the Sheriff's Office. BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A dozen people have been arrested on drug-related charges and seven people are wanted in "2019 Summer Roundup," the Baker County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday. As of Monday, according to the Sheriff's Office, 12 suspects had been arrested on drug-related charges. Deputies said warrants have been obtained for seven suspects, who have yet to be taken into custody. BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A Baker County woman described the weekend terror that she and a friend survived. Though Mills was not injured, her close friend, Evans, was taken to UF Health hospital in Jacksonville and underwent multiple surgeries. Mills said she was with her close friend, Evans, at Evans' Baker County home Saturday night when all of a sudden Evans' estranged husband barged in. So the only thing I could do was to roll," Mills recounted. Court records show Evans obtained a domestic violence injunction against Tisdale in April and filed for divorce on May 31.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - A teenager was arrested after a BMW was stolen from a church parking lot and later involved in a hit-and-run crash, according to the Baker County Sheriff's Office. Brenton Davis, 18, was arrested for grand theft, burglary and petit theft, the Sheriff's Office said. On Sunday afternoon, Davis, who was driving the BMW, was involved in a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of State Road 121 South and Mud Lake Road, the Sheriff's Office said. They were able to track the BMW using GPS, and it was later found abandoned in Sanderson. Footprints were seen outside the BMW, according to the Sheriff's Office, and police K-9s were used to track Davis.

MACCLENNY, Fla. – A man was arrested in connection with a 2016 robbery at the Walgreens in Macclenny, the Baker County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday. Brad Curtis Stewart, 23, of Sanderson, was being held in the Baker County jail on $250,000 as of Wednesday. On June 11, 2016, according to the Sheriff's Office, two masked people went into the Walgreens on South Sixth Street and demanded money from the store clerk. Over the last month, detectives with the Sheriff's Office began to review the previously closed case and examine the evidence. The Sheriff's Office said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as the case develops.

MACCLENNY, Fla. – The manager of the McDonald's in Macclenny was arrested after he attacked several customers, including a teenage boy, inside the fast-food restaurant, the Baker County Sheriff's Office said. Rafiel Morgan, 40, is charged with child abuse, battery and disorderly conduct. Deputies were called Sunday night to the McDonald's on Sixth Street, just north of Interstate 10, after receiving a report of a fight. There was an argument between a customer and employees, during which Morgan attacked several customers, including a 15-year-old boy who received serious facial injuries, according to deputies. Morgan drove off before deputies arrived, but was taken into custody Monday after a warrant was issued for his arrest, the Sheriff's Office said.

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – A corrections officer is accused of having sex with a female inmate, according to the Baker County Sheriff's Office. Tarrece Givens, 27, was arrested Monday on a charge of sexual battery on a person over 12 years of age by a correctional officer. Givens began employment with the Sheriff's Office Detention Center on Sept. 30, 2011. The complaint alleges that he was involved in the performance of a sex act with a female inmate housed at the Baker County Detention Center while on duty Jan. 29. Investigators said there are no indications or allegations that force was used, and therefore no injuries have been reported.
