Police said the woman showed up to discuss an account, but she got into an argument with a teller that escalated when she threatened to kill everyone in the bank and announced she was robbing the place, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The woman left the bank after she was given some cash, and she was taken into custody nearby a short time later, police said. No weapon was seen during the robbery, according to police, and no one inside the bank was hurt.

According to City Council members, 18 downtown businesses, primarily along Bay Street, had windows smashed out during the protest on May 30. The damage was not extensive, but enough to have some owners ask the city for help. City Council is now looking to approve a program that would use $25,000 from the city reserve to help pay for the broken windows. The legislation would need full City Council approval.

Early work on the demolition of the Hart Bridge ramp forced organizers to move the starting line two blocks north -- from Bay Street to Duval Street. Also, as a result of relocating the starting line, the 5K race -- which usually starts at the same time as the 15K -- will now start 30 minutes later. But one tradition has continued through it all: the annual Painting of the PawPrints along Bay Street. The tradition of painting bright yellow pawprints from the Main Street Bridge to the Jaguars' stadium began in 1995 -- the team's inaugural season -- as a small downtown project. Last year, organizers said more than 400 people took part in the Painting of the PawPrints, helping to freshen up the more than 330 paw prints that run along Bay Street. This year's 25th-anniversary pawprint painting, hosted by the JaxChamber Downtown Council and presented by VyStar Credit Union, will be from 7-10 a.m. Saturday.
