Hearing testimony further connects Trump to Ukraine pressure
Taylor's aide, who was accompanying Sondland to meetings in Kiev with Ukrainian officials, could hear Trump asking Sondland about the investigations, Taylor testified. Sondland "told President Trump that the Ukrainians were ready to move forward," Taylor said. Taylor testified that his aide later asked Sondland what Trump thought of Ukraine. "Ambassador Sondland responded that President Trump cares more about the investigations of Biden, which (Trump personal attorney Rudy) Giuliani was pressing for," Taylor said. House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, asked Taylor if Sondland's statement meant that Trump cared more about the investigations "than he does about Ukraine?"
How to watch Wednesday's impeachment hearing
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The House impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump is moving into its next phase this week with its first televised hearings. At 10 a.m., on Wednesday, November 13, the House Intelligence Committee hearing will be gaveled in, according to an official working on the impeachment inquiry (All times are in Eastern Standard). Taylor and Kent will then be sworn in and get to deliver their opening statements before the committee. After the extended questioning, each lawmaker on the committee will get five minutes to ask Taylor and Kent questions. Kent testified privately before House lawmakers on October 15, appearing under subpoena despite State Department orders not to cooperate with Congress.
