LOS ANGELES An optimistic NBC said Thursday it will bring This Is Us and other scripted series back in November despite the TV industry's coronavirus-caused production shutdown that's only beginning to ease. Broadcast TV's usual robust September start to the new season has already bowed to the pandemic, with NBC and other networks relying heavily on reality and acquired series that month. This Is Us, the family drama starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, will kick off its fifth season on Nov. 10, the network said. That will be followed by the Nov. 11 return of the Chicago drama franchise: Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med.The Mariska Hargitay-led Law & Order: SVU will start its record-building 22nd season on Nov. 12, followed by The Blacklist," starring James Spader and Megan Boone, on Nov. 13. Connecting, a new comedy about friends using video chats to remain bonded despite pandemic isolation, will debut Oct. 1.

Westfield says it has been using its parking lots to draw crowds for years, with circuses, ice skating rinks and car shows. Kilburn Live, another production company, has turned five mall parking lots into drive-ins and is adding others. Walmart, noticing the trend, added drive-in movies to 160 of its parking lots where people can order snacks ahead of time from the store. And its also considering renting out parts of its parking lots to companies that want to hold drive-in meetings with their employees.

Convincing its star drivers the trip to Nashville Superspeedway in 2021 is the spark of a motorsports rebirth in the area and not just another lazy ride on an intermediate concrete track. Theres little sense now debating which track is worthy of the renovations and safety upgrades necessary to hold Cup Series races at least through 2024. The TV numbers also showed there was a demand for NASCAR in Nashville. Nashville Superspeedway held Xfinity and Truck events, as well as IndyCar races, from 2001 until 2011. But the track has never held an elite Cup Series race.

Its music to NASCARs ears: the stock car series is set to return to Nashville, Tennessee in 2021. Nashville Superspeedway will hold a Cup race for the first time next season, ending NASCARs decade-long absence from the track. The Nashville track is owned by Dover Motorsports, Inc., which has held Cup race weekends each year since 1969. The idea to return NASCAR to Nashville took root after a successful blowout last December for its season-ending awards celebration. The Cup Series ran 42 times at the old Fairgrounds from 1958 through 1984, and the lower-level Xfinity and Truck Series last raced there in 2000.

Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson sat down with ET's Keltie Knight ahead of the NBC singing competition show's upcoming season, to dish on having Taylor Swift as a mentor once again. The "You Need to Calm Down" singer was previously a Mega Mentor on season seven, which featured Shelton, Pharrell Williams, Gwen Stefani and Adam Levine. Known for recently wearing bright and sparkly outfits, Clarkson joked that Shelton could be taking some fashion tips from Swift this season. For season 17, Shelton and Clarkson are joined by Stefani, as well as reigning season 16 champ, John Legend. As for Clarkson, she's also hoping to beat her fellow coaches, but isn't opposed to giving tips to all the artists, regardless if they're Team Kelly or not.

"I didn't expect to be doing [the Vegas show] and The Voice at the same time. Because doing both is a lot," Stefani told ET's Keltie Knight during The Voice press junket in Los Angeles. An eyewitness tells ET that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani attended church together on Saturday night in Beverly Hills, California. In the worship service, Stefani sang along with the hymns while Shelton was spotted sharing some jokes with her boys. Garth Brooks is having fun giving fellow country singer Blake Shelton a hard time. The bestselling musicians teamed up over the weekend to deliver the debut live performance of their recently released collaboration, "Dive Bar." While Shelton might have gotten messed with a little, it wasn't anything he didn't take in stride -- even though "Mr. Stefani" wasn't able to debut the single in front of his ladylove. While Brooks' wife, Trisha Yearwood, was in attendance at the stadium stop, Stefani couldn't make it, despite wanting to. "I wish, and she wishes too, [but] she has her Vegas residency going right now, so she's got a performance," Shelton explained.

(CNN) - Country singer Garth Brooks may be coming to play at a dive bar near you. Brooks announced on Facebook that he will be playing a surprise, seven-city dive bar tour, inspired by his new song with Blake Shelton "Dive Bar," alongside his current North American tour. He'll kick it off in a Chicago dive bar on July 15. The singer didn't reveal which dive bar in Chicago or the other six locations. The remainder of the dates will be announced on July 15, which is the same day "Dive Bar" will be released to Amazon Music.
