Airstream Ventures unveiled the third installment of the high school football event on Tuesday afternoon, bringing three games back to the Bolles School’s Skinner-Barco Stadium on Aug. 22. Last year’s Bold City Showcase featured three Saturday games (Bartram Trail-Lee, Atlantic Coast-Mandarin and Bolles-University Christian). Hopefully in Year 2, we adapt and get better and handle the chaos of the Bold City Showcase,” he said. As soon as the ball kicks off, it’s a football game.

It was the inaugural Bold City Showcase. News4Jax meteorologist estimated the high temperature at Bolles was 91 degrees -- in the shade. "We're all, like, sweating and, like, it's really hard, but a lot of water has helped with the heat," Bartram Trail cheerleader Lily McMullan said. Despite the heat, Bartram Trail left tackle Jacob Otts said he's happy with how well the inaugural event went.

The six-team, three-game showcase begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, which means some of the teams will be playing in the hottest part of the day. WATCH: How to beat the heat while playing sports“So just preparing for the worst really and hoping for the best,” Verlander said. “The kids are ready to go practice or play against somebody else and the fans and everybody are ready for football season to start and it’s here,” said Matt Morris, athletic director at Bolles.
