The sun already was forcing its way through the marine layer Friday morning, with calm conditions at Harding Park. Li, the 25-year-old from China, opened with two birdies and then made a 15-foot birdie at the fifth hole. DeChambeau snapped his driver -- which he nicknamed the Kraken -- during Thursdays opening round at TPC Harding Park.

Thomas dueled defending champion Brooks Koepka down the final holes, sealing the World Golf Championship victory on the par-5 16th. Thomas took the lead for good with his second straight birdie, while Koepka bogeyed the hole. Koepka had the lead to himself at 10 under before falling apart on his back nine with a double bogey and two bogeys. Todd won back-to-back tournaments last November for his first win on tour since winning the Byron Nelson in 2014. That put Todd atop the leaderboard at 9 under, and his putter helped him birdie consecutive holes including the big putt on No.
