In addition, Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran Church at 7850 Southside Boulevard hosted a pop-up vaccination clinic from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. News4Jax learned there were 200 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine available. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single shot and does not require a second dose.

The Harley family and the city honored the toddler by holding a dedication ceremony for a new playground at Bruce Park. “Just being able to bring his brothers and sisters out to the Amari Harley Playground. AdMonths after Amari died, the city spent $837,525 to replace city parks’ septic tank lids. We grew up in this park,” Amari’s grandfather, Ronald Kelsey, told News4Jax.

Amari was three years old when his body was found inside an unsecured septic tank while at Bruce Park with his family for a celebration. After Amrari’s tragic death, Mayor Lenny Curry vowed to secure septic tanks’ lids on all city property. Today, 193 city septic tanks are secured by heavy metal lids with locking devices. The dedication ceremony of Amari Harley Playground was scheduled for Friday but was rescheduled to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Bruce Park, 6549 Arlington Road.
