High school games were added to that schedule eventually, giving local programs a big stage to play on. “You’re right, this is all high school and all North Florida high school, whereas Moe’s was all teams from all around the state. AdIn the six-year period from 2013-18, the NFHS reported a substantial increase in high school lacrosse teams across the country.

The tournament began early in the week, although Tuesday’s games were wiped out due to rain and made up a day later. The team switch the best records played on Saturday: Wolfson/Clay, Fleming Island/Nease and St. Johns Country Day/Ponte Vedra. The Baseball Classic is one of three marquee competition events that High School 9:12 has put on annually. High School 9:12 is also segueing into lacrosse this spring with the first Rivalry on the River, a 16-team event featuring both boys and girls teams.

Kaley Whitehead will serve as the reporter of the 9:12 Roundup and deliver content that features sports across the First Coast. CW17 will air the Flag Football World Championships the next two Sunday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. Teams are still competing during the pandemic, although theres no bigger stage now than the World Championships. Sik Wit It and Wet N Dirty are two of the areas most prominent flag teams. The Flag Football World Championships will also be televised on July 26 at 2:30 p.m. on CW.

CW17 will partner with the Cochran Firm for the second year in a row to host the February awards show, which is modeled after the official Trumpet Awards and hosted by News4Jax anchors Tarik Minor and Melanie Lawson. I could not be prouder to announce the second annual Jacksonville Image Awards program. Due to the pandemic, the Image Awards could be held virtually in 2021. Like the Trumpet Awards, the Jacksonville Image Awards were created to herald the accomplishments of black humanitarians who have succeeded against immense odds.
