A man is in custody and a child is back safe with their mom after a kidnapping in Glynn County. Police said the man stole the mother’s car with the child inside.

Days after a Georgia woman was shot and killed while deputies served a search warrant, authorities have released body camera footage of the incident.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville City Councilwoman is expressing concerns that the city’s plan to shelter its homeless residents could lead to an influx of homeless people from out of town. Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman told News4Jax that she’s worried law enforcement agencies in neighboring counties are transporting their homeless residents here, which could give them a false sense of hope about the resources available. “Last week I was here and I saw one of the police cars from Camden County and they dropped off a couple people,” Pittman said. All of them said they do not transport homeless residents out of their county. After 30 days pass, the bridge shelter will be closed, but resources will continue to be available through Urban Rest Stop.

KINGSLAND, Ga. – A man pulled over on Saturday, November 28 for a tag that didn’t match the vehicle, ended up in the Camden County Jail. A spokesperson for the Kingsland Police Department said officers first found a hypodermic needle on the driver, Johnathan McGregor. Officers then searched the vehicle and found approximately 481 grams of methamphetamine, 30.5 grams of cocaine, 7 grams of heroin, 3 firearms, and $1,575 in cash. A Camden County teen was arrested Wednesday in the murder of a Kingsland man found shot inside his home earlier this month, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Monday. Ashanti Hollerman, 17, of Woodbine, was taken into custody on charges of murder and aggravated assault in the Nov. 3 killing of Ernest Zachary Ruffell, marking the second arrest in the 34-year-old man’s death. Another suspect, 43-year-old Daniel Miller of Kingsland, is also charged with murder and aggravated assault. He was already in custody on firearms charges linked to the shooting at the time of his arrest. Ruffell was found shot inside his Forest Ridge Drive home about 12:20 a.m. Nov. 3, the Kingsland Police Department previously reported.

KINGSLAND, Ga. - Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion, according to the Kingsland Police Department. Officers with the Police Department and the Camden County Sheriff's Office responded Wednesday to an incident on Davis Avenue involving two people who forced entry to a home and assaulted the resident, police said. Officers were able to find, detain and obtain confessions from people involved as a result of information obtained by dispatchers and the officers' quick response, the Police Department said. Keenan Clark was arrested and charged with home invasion and aggravated assault, and Alicia Butler was arrested and charged with home invasion, battery and interference with a 911 call, according to the Police Department. KINGSLAND, Ga. - Shots were fired during a fight in a parking lot earlier this week, and investigators have arrested one man as they search for another juvenile, officials said Wednesday. The shooting took place Tuesday at 1711 Laurel Island Parkway, according to the Kingsland Police Department. Detectives with the Kingsland Police Department, the Camden County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations responded. At some point after the shooting, a victim was taken to Southeast Georgia Medical. Police said they made one arrest and they've identified a second juvenile male, but he has not been found and criminal warrants have been issued in connection with the shooting.

WOODBINE, Ga. – The Camden County Sheriff's Office is warning residents that if someone calls saying a loved one has been kidnapped, it's probably a scam. Deputies said it happened to a woman over the weekend. She was told to withdraw money from the bank to keep her friend alive. The Sheriff's Office said if you get a call like this, stay calm, listen for background noises and whether the caller has an accent, then call police. Deputies say most of these scams originate out of the country, so the caller will usually have a strong accent.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. – There's a new warning out of Camden County, Georgia, about an age-old scam. The Camden County Sheriff's Office said Monday that thieves posing as Internal Revenue Service agents are calling people and threatening jail time if they don't pay up. The caller also claims that you'll be arrested for unpaid taxes, regardless of whether you've paid or not, authorities said. If you get the call, ignore it and hang up the phone immediately. The IRS does not conduct business in this manner, deputies said.
