Meanwhile, Florida health officials expressed frustration that New York officials did not inform them of the infection of a New York patient who had traveled to Miami. Alberto Moscoso, a spokesman for the Florida Health Department, said the older woman had been traveling with her 22-year-old sister, a resident of California. Florida officials urged residents to take common sense precautions, such as washing hands frequently for at least 20 seconds and to avoid contact with people who are sick. The Florida Health Department's website reported that nearly 250 people were under public health monitoring as of Tuesday and that there were 16 pending test results.

Of the 385 newly confirmed cases, 170 are in Tehran, where schools and cinemas have remained closed for the second week. Lebanon, which has 10 confirmed cases, ordered all nurseries, schools and universities shut until March 8. Iran has the world’s highest death toll outside of China, where there has been 2,870 deaths among close to 80,000 cases.
