ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. โ Whether youโre a St. Augustine local or a returning visitor, chances are, youโve made great memories at the Castillo de San Marcos in the heart of St. Augustine. Steve Roberts is chief of Interpretation, Education, and Visitor Service for Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments. โThe way Iโve been phrasing it is, โSend it with a Castillo!,โ Roberts said. โThis is very special for us in St. Augustine and really all across Northeast Florida.โRoberts says the group also worked closely with staff to make sure the image and its details were accurate. As News4jax told you in September, the Castillo de San Marcos is back open following COVID-19 closures.

Castillo de San Marcos reopens to public after 7-month closure
ST. JOHNS, Fla. โ The Castillo de San Marcos, which has been closed since March 17, reopened to visitors on Wednesday. According to a release from the National Park Service, starting Wednesday, the Castillo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. From its incredible structure to its cannons, the Castillo de San Marcos is a history lesson up close. Vicki Perdue and her husband were visiting St. Augustine from Texas and recalled their first time bringing their young children to see the fort. The Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest masonry fort in the United States.
