Christie Brinkley may no longer be competing on Dancing With the Stars, but she's still the queen of the ballroom! During Monday's Movie Night, Sailor Brinkley-Cook and her pro partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, adorably dedicated their performance to the model, who had to forfeit the competition earlier this month due to an injury. The dancing duo performed an energetic Tango to "Mamma Mia" from Mamma Mia!, slaying their routine and receiving raving reviews from the judges. "I feel like we parallel Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried in this movie," Sailor said in a package that aired right before stepping out with Val. Prior to their performance, the DWTS Instagram page teased that the two would be doing something special for Christie.

Her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, has proudly stepped in, and is competing in the ballroom with Val Chmerkovskiy. Dancing With the Stars is about to send home its first celeb! The dancing competition show returned for week two on Monday, after introducing fans to their new cast of strutting stars last week. Host Tom Bergeron hinted to ET last month that the DWTS judges will have a "little extra oomph" this season. Sailor Brinkley-Cook stepped in for mom Christie Brinkley and held her own despite just a few days of practice. James Van Der Beek and Bachelorette Hannah Brown were early standout stars, while Sean Spicer and Lamar Odom struggled with their week one dances.

Wendy Williams is skeptical about Christie Brinkley's sudden Dancing With the Stars exit. Dancing With the Stars called Christie Brinkley and said, 'Do you want to dance and with the stars?' When ET's Katie Krause caught up with with Christie, Sailor and their pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, following Sailor's performance, Christie lamented her need to step away while praising her daughter.

While she couldn't hit the dance floor, the proud mom cheered her daughter on from the audience while rocking her cast. "I can't even feel this right now, I'm so excited by what just took place," Christie, 65, marveled, holding up her cast-covered wrist. And it was her mom's perseverance that Sailor, 21, found the motivation and inspiration to take on the DWTS challenge. Before the performance, a pre-taped package revealed exactly what happened, and video from the rehearsal showed the exact moment Christie shattered her wrist. "The second I fell, I grabbed my wrist and it felt like there were sharp things inside of it," Christie recalled.

"Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season," Christie said in a statement to "Good Morning America." Her rep says that Brinkley tripped over her partner's foot during a turn, and suffered a fall. ABC said in a statement to PEOPLE that Brinkley required surgery to her wrist and arm. She loved doing this, she loves dancing and she loves performing and getting hurt was her worst nightmare."

Brinkley praised Sailor with a heartfelt message on Instagram. It was quite literally a crushing disappointment, I never ever want to let anyone down, so I looked for a silver lining and i think this one is solid gold!" Brinkley went on to praise Sailor for overcoming "serious stage fright," and also hinted at who her professional dancing partner will be. On Monday, Sailor told Good Morning America that her mom was definitely emotional over her sudden DWTS exit. ET spoke to Brinkley last month after the star-studded cast of DWTS' 28th season was announced, and she joked about how inexperienced she was.

This season's cast of contestants donned black suits and dresses and stood side-by-side in a room that's more board room than dance floor with wood paneled walls and velvet couches. This design is clearly quite a bit different from promo shots from past seasons, which emphasized the glitz and fun over the contemplative professionalism of this season's cast pic. The ballroom is expected to have an art deco look, and fans should expect to see lots of gold tones this season! I think it's going to be so fun," Brinkley, 65, said before adding, "I literally don't know how to dance. Seriously, it's true I really don't have the moves.
