A woman was found dead from a gunshot wound late Thursday night in the Robbinson's Addition area of Jacksonville's Westside, police said.

A man in his late 40s died Tuesday night after the ATV he was riding along the grass shoulder of Commonwealth Avenue hit a tree, police said.

A man in his late 20s or early 30s was found dead on the side of the road in a field area in Northwest Jacksonville on Saturday shortly after 8:00 a.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Johnny McGlothin, 72, was last seen on Bergen Street.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville firefighters battled a fuel tanker fire on I-10 westbound early Christmas Eve morning. The tanker was carrying 6,000 gallons of gasoline and 2,500 gallons of diesel when flames sparked. All westbound lanes of I-10 at Hammond Boulevard were closed while crews transfered the fuel. Otherwise, traffic is being redirected onto the 295 exit. If you follow the latter route, you’ll need to use 295 northbound to exit to Commonwealth Avenue, go left on Commonwealth, and then use Picketville Road south to get to US 90.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday on Commonwealth Avenue near Jones Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. Shortly before 6:40 p.m., police said, a vehicle went off the road and struck a light pole. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he was the only person in the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office said several homes and businesses in the area were without power and JEA was contacted. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A SWAT standoff in Jacksonville's Woodstock neighborhood ended peacefully Tuesday morning with the arrest of an 18-year-old. A woman told Jacksonville police that Follow showed up at her house Monday with a rifle and asked her to drive him somewhere. When she returned home Tuesday, she found a pile of her uniforms burning in front of the house, and Follow was inside the house, the report said. As he left the home, the officer could be heard over the loudspeaker saying, "you're doing the right thing." The standoff forced some nearby homes to be evacuated overnight and closed part of Commonwealth Avenue during rush hour.
